Do You Want To See An Xbox One S Taken Apart

Ben Heck is well-known for his passion of tearing down gadgets and revealing everything within. His latest victim is the Xbox One S and in a 20-minute video shows you what Microsoft changed. And yes, the Xbox One S controller gets torn down as well. Taking off the Xbox One S‘ case proved to be more difficult than Heck expected, at least compared to the Xbox 360. The first thing he noticed was the smaller Xbox heat sink grid, a component found on all Xbox console models. Redmond also added heat pipes to it, replacing the compact design of old heat sinks. In the he Xbox One S is a four-element core structure: disk, hard-drive, power and fan, all labeled for better identification. Its power brick is much smaller than the power bricks used for previous models, which helps Microsoft save precious space. Heck revealed that Samsung no longer powers this console, having replaced the Samsung drives with Seagate drives. The Xbox One S has 16 RAM units delivering a total RAM capacity of 8GB. Microsoft designed the lines between the RAM and the chip in a particular manner to ensure all of the RAM has the same access time. Check out the video below for the teardown.
